In these works, I am experimenting with the generative approach of applying a systematic marking system as a layer painted over a toned ground.

Started as a way to work with color palettes, the interplay of the mark with the ground, the loading and emptying of paint on the brush, the variation of my marks over time, and the unplanned dimensional qualities have superseded my initial interest merely in color. The compositions unfold organically, each mark, like a knitting stitch, a small link in a greater network.
